The oddest sale ever – CURRENTLY ON HOLD

Stick with me here, I’ve completely buried my lead.

In December and January, I did pretty much all of my shopping via internet. Whatever I needed, I had it shipped to me. Crackers, books, bottled tea. DVDs. Gift cards as last-minute Christmas gifts. You name it.

We also now receive boxes of medical supplies on a regular basis. Even the supplies that the delivery man drops off come in boxes. (reused boxes, though – I love it!)

Combine that with the fact that I was closed for the better part of November, December, January, and February, and I’ve ended up with…

An Absolutely Out Of Control Stockpile Of Boxes.

holy moly.

So I now bring you the oddest sale ever.

Free shipping if I can ship your order in one of my piled up boxes.

Not everyone will order something that can go into one of the boxes I have here. I am pretty sure I don’t have any boxes appropriately sized for an order of one fleece cover, for example. So what you’ll need to do is place your order, pay for shipping like usual, and you’ll get a refund if I’m able to give you free shipping.

I’m also going to set the cart to give free shipping on orders over $100. Those will almost always be large enough to use up one of the medium or large boxes in the pile.

The fine print:

MOST of my boxes are larger. I have a few smaller boxes, but I think those will go quickly and then it’ll just be the larger boxes, for larger orders. You’re going to have to TRUST ME on my box stockpile. I promise you I will use a stockpiled box if at all possible.

Restocking! And sale! And Your opinions!!

I have been super busy lately getting all sorts of goodies restocked. (I will admit, sometimes I am jealous of resale shops that only have to order more inventory when they run low!)

(click on the pictures to go to the store!)

And on sale!

All Pouches just $20  and  Appliqued Fleecy Wraps and Fleecy Pull-Ons just $12!

Your Opinions!

I’m hoping to get several more items restocked before I need to cut back in preparation for this new baby. (Yes, technically, I could just keep working, but I prefer to take several weeks to just enjoy my current kids and tank them up a little on mama time before the new arrival.)

I want to know what YOU most want to see restocked. Do you want large fleece covers? More wool? Onbu carriers? More colors of napkins? (If you’re requesting something that already has plenty of inventory, like pocket diapers for example, please take an extra second to note specifically what you’re wanting.)

I’m also planning to put at least one product on sale each week between now and whenever I close things up.

What do YOU want to see on sale? Gift-y things like Little Leg Warmers and Snackin’ Bags? Items over in my Etsy store? Essentials for your little one like fitteds and covers?

Let me know what YOU want!!

CLEARANCE!

Soooo…. I’m not doing craft shows much these days (OK, at all). And I’m not keeping up with listing things at Etsy like I should. So I have this backlog of stuff that’s been sitting around waiting for me to do something with it. So this is what I’m doing. Putting it all on one long page and selling it all at clearance prices.

If you see something you want, please email me.

Sandwich Wrappers and Snackin’ Bags

Day in the Life

A stack of completed Sandwich Wrappers, ready to be shipped to your home!

Just in time for Back to School (or, if you live in some districts, about a week too late, you crazy early school starters!), I’ve restocked the Snackin’ Bags and Sandwich Wrappers. AND they’re on sale through Aug 31. What more could you ask for?

There’s a LOT of Snackin’ Bag inventory, and these three prints of Sandwich Wrappers (seashells, camo, and Pop Culture). We’ve recently been hearing from people who buy these as presents for new mommies, too, as a convenient way for them to schlep their own snacks around. However you use them – at school, at work, in the diaper bag, or even just around the house – they’re super convenient and way more fun than just a plastic zip-close snack bag!

Black Friday/Thanksgiving Weekend specials

Hey, folks! I’m going to be enjoying my family Wednesday through Sunday instead of working, so any orders placed between right NOW and Sunday will be processed next week.

BUT!

We have some fun Black Friday sales in both Wallypop and Boulevard Designs. Starting tomorrow (Wednesday), use the code SMALLBIZSATURDAY at our Etsy store (boulevarddesigns.etsy.com) for 5% off your purchase, or at Wallypop (wallypop.net) for 10% off your purchase. Or, you can use the code BLACKFRIDAY at Wallypop for free shipping. (Many items in our Etsy store are already free shipping.)

Enjoy!

Seasonal Legwarmers

Alright, I have these legwarmers – I just got them made on Thursday. Finish Leg Warmers has kind of been on my to do list for several weeks. I forgot that I had some seasonal ones in there needing to be finished up.

And now it’s far too late to list the Halloween ones on Etsy. So here’s what I’m going to do for YOU, my lovely blog readers. Leg Warmers are usually $7 each. I’m going to offer these for $5 each, with free shipping if you live outside the Des Moines area. (DM residents, sorry, you have to schlep over here for them, or I can bring them to the NP Fiber Artists meeting on Monday.)

Post here or email if you find a pair you want. If the Christmas ones don’t sell here, I DO have time to list them, and I will do so in a week or two. Thanks!!

Patapum Carriers

I’ve decided to stop carrying Patapum carriers. I love the Patapum over any other soft structured carrier I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a lot of them!), and I particularly love the high quality for low price. It has excellent features, and its range of fit cannot be beat.

However, I originally brought the Patapum into my product line-up because I wanted to offer my local customers a more affordable alternative to the Ergo, which was the only other SSC available locally at the time. Many local parents can’t easily afford an Ergo.

Yet, I do not believe I have sold a single Patapum locally. I’ve mailed plenty, to people who absolutely love them. But I had wanted the Patapums for local families.

I have probably not done a good enough job spreading the word about Patapum’s awesomeness, and Patapum also just isn’t as popular of a brand. (They do not spend much on advertising in the US, so they don’t have the same brand recognition.)

So, when I sell out of the Patapums I have remaining in stock, that’ll be it.

And, in a last-ditch effort to achieve my goal of Patapum use in Des Moines, I’m offering 20% off the remaining Patapums. I have one each: Infant black, Infant Khaki, Infant Navy, Toddler Khaki. The Infant Navy and Toddler Khaki have been opened. Please email if you’d like to take advantage of this offer!

Celebrate the Snow!

I’ve been waiting for spring to do some fun spring-related promotions, but I’ve recently decided that it’s never going to be spring. No, folks, it’s going to be winter for ever.

Des Moines is within ten inches of breaking the record for snowfall in any given season. Looking at the forecast for the next week, I’d say the chances of breaking that record are pretty good. As a result of all that snow:

  • My driveway is at least 8 inches taller than normal. We’ve lost the bottom 2 steps completely.
  • I only receive mail delivery an average of three days a week.
  • I can’t open the door to the chicken run attached to the coop.
  • I cannot see people when they walk on the sidewalk across the street – just their heads, except at corners, when they completely disappear.
  • I’m starting to consider fake tanning so I can be warm and in bright light.
  • Lake Wallypop is anticipated to be extra-big and an extra PITA this year.

But, I’ve decided that, instead of groaning every time more of those cursed white flakes fall from the sky, it’s time to embrace it.  What better way than with a sale?

So, here’s the deal. Every time it snows in Des Moines, I’ll put something on sale for 24 hours. I don’t know what or how much. But something will go on sale. You can follow Wallypop on Twitter or Facebook for those details at the time they happen.

Don’t live in Des Moines? Just follow our Twitter or Facebook for the updates.

The fine print: I don’t sit at my computer 24/7. It might start snowing while we’re away from the house for the day and I might not be able to do the sale until later in the day. I’ll do my best!!

Hopefully, this’ll bring a little FUN to the rest of winter and change my (and your?) attitude about the stupid white junk.

This promotion will end in June. If it snows in June, I will put everything on clearance, sell my store and my house, and move to Hawaii. Hawaiian customers: I’ll call first, but I’m totally coming over.

Sale is limited to quantities on hand, in stock items only.

Some Secondhand Wallypop carriers

Carrie in Chicago is selling some of her old baby items including two Wallypop carriers and a MamaBaby.  Listing is on Craigslist. Carrie is moving to Iowa City, and has a sister in Des Moines, so she can mail items or get just bring them here.

New Instock Fitteds over at Etsy, new Instock Medium Pockets over at Wallypop

New, new, new.

I’m listing some super super fun fitted diapers over at Etsy. I’ve got two up so far, and I’ve got two more smalls and about 8 mediums yet to go. Spongebob, Auto parts, National Guard, Iowa Hawkeyes, Twilight, Kool-aid, and more.

http://boulevarddesigns.etsy.com

No Etsy account? No problem. Just let us know what you’re interested in, and we can take care of it. (In a way that still gets Etsy the fees that they would have charged had you purchased it thru Etsy – we’re not in any way trying, hoping, or wanting to cheat Etsy out of their fees!)

AND I have new Pocket diapers listed for sale over at Wallypop. Buy one, mention you saw it here (through 8/23) and I’ll toss in a special treat with your order.
