Beautiful Day Today

(cross posted at Boulevard Designs.)
It was 71 degrees out today, a stunningly beautiful day amid a week of 40s and predicted weekend back in the 40s. Both children are still coughing, but nobody seems on the brink of death at this point, and we were all eager to get outside. We went to the zoo [...]

Life at Wallypop

Wally sitting at my computer in my office watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, drinking tea and eating fries from McDonald’s. I mean, how crunchy and wholesome can you get??
Most days, he plays with his legos or his plethorea of toys or he paints or draws. Often, he plays educational games on my computer, but now [...]

Pouch

I slipped G in the pouch after she fell asleep (she doesn’t prefer to fall asleep in the pouch). Then did some dishes and baked Christmas cookies with Wally, who took the dish washing photo. (I did the other one myself.)

Diapering at nearly 2 weeks, 7.5 lbs

So I’m happy to report that most of Miss G’s size small (Wallypop brand) diapers and covers fit her well now. They’re still a bit bulky on her slender frame, but they fit well, even around her skinny legs. I say “most” because some of her covers and diapers are a bit non-standard in terms [...]

In the wrap

ahhhh. I’ve never really carried a newborn in the Wrapsody (formerly GypsyMama) Bali Baby Stretch wrap before. I’ve tossed friends’ babies in for demos, but those few minutes really cannot convey the absolute comfort of this wrap! Wow, I love it. I mean, I already loved it for its comfort with Wally (at 3 and [...]

Thoughts on diapering a small baby

So, Genevieve was 6 lb 3 oz. Wally was 8 lb 11 oz. Diapering them has certainly presented different challenges! Wally didn’t fit into many of the size smalls we had acquired secondhand, and the infant prefolds only worked for a short time. Wally’s larger size accounts for the sizing of Wallypop diapers – our [...]

And she’s here! Genevieve Elizabeth, 6 lb 3 oz, born at home October 29 some time around 4:00 am.

What I’ve been up to

because I know you’re all just dying to know.
Since I closed, I have:

learned to batik
restocked Mei Tai carriers
delivered some of said MT carriers to The Stork Wearhouse
restocked more MT carriers (you won’t see the new inventory listed because I’m not updating again until late December)

shopped around for new suppliers
restocked leg warmers
knitted my fingers off
made [...]

My belly

Though people keep telling me how very small I am (which is ANNOYING!!!), I personally feel that I have a fairly large belly. I can’t remember how far I am, but I’m due at the end of October, so about a month and a half away.
