Closed up again

Teddy’s had a rough week with lots of puking and, though it’s kind of a chicken and egg situation, his BUN (measure of kidney function) is super high. (94) Dehydration makes BUN go up, high BUN makes you feel sick and puke, making you dehydrated. We are HOPING that the high BUN is just from dehydration, and that IV fluids and addressing the puking brings it down. Chief nephrologist doesn’t think so, but I do. :-)

If that happens, we should be home within a week, and you’ll barely notice our absence.

If it doesn’t come down (and it will come down pretty quickly with IV fluids if it’s going to), then it’s finally time to start dialysis, and we’ll be here for a while.

I have only 2 orders that came in the last day that I haven’t gotten out, everything else is on its way. Thanks much!
