I don’t think I have the energy to deal with these right now, but some interesting headlines:
Consumer Reports (on my list of annoying organizations already) recommends against cosleepers and baby carriers. It is sad that four babies have died in slings (those mass produced, bulky, barely functional ones sold by baby stores), absolutely. Well-designed slings and baby carriers are not only safe, but they DO make life easier and better – for mama and for baby.
White House announces nominees for CPSC. Nord is clearly gone, which is too bad, but could maybe get things moving again. Whether that’s good or bad remains to be seen.
Seventh Generation (which sells disposable diapers, among other “green” disposable products) says cloth diapers not a good choice. Perhaps people should just start wearing disposable clothes. I mean, after all, washing your clothes takes up waaaay more water than does washing diapers. And we use clothes our whole lives, not just for a few years. (Also, Seventh Generation, please stop with the chlorine bleach nonsense!!!)
