The Stork Affair

Today, we had a booth at Mercy Hospital’s Stork Affair, which is a baby event they have once or twice a year. Every year is better, it seems – the first year I was there (3 years ago) most people walked by with their noses turned up, but every event since then seems to have more and more people who are not turned off by cloth diapers and baby slings.

Today, many people responded to our typical opening question of “have you had an opportunity to see modern cloth diapers in person?” with “No! But I’ve read about them in magazines and I’m very curious.” Awesome! Perhaps Cloth is making a big comeback after all!

I mean, I know it IS making a comeback, but perhaps we’re about to pierce mainstream America with the message that Cloth is Better (and nonscary!).

I think we’re making such a positive impact on this town! Many people reported today that they knew somebody personally who uses cloth diapers or who wears a baby sling. It’s so rewarding to hear that, because when I started three years ago, I could name for you (and count on one hand) the number of cloth diaper users in town. Now they’re ALL OVER! I love it!
